Since GOSESO was first
conceived in 2005, we have received strong, unwavering support from the Kigoma
regional government and local citizenry. Partnerships with local villagers
have helped us to develop protocols and strategies that blend habitat improvement
with opportunity for local villagers to derive a sustainable agricultural
and natural resource livelihood. GOSESO is spearheading an initiative to further
enlist and engage, at a grassroots level, the citizenry and the local government
of Tanzania by establishing the Kitobe Forest as a model for environmental
restoration and economically sustainable enterprise.
Representing the sentiments and imaginations of the people of Western Tanzania, we have garnered the support of governmental and non-governmental organizations in Tanzania and abroad. For example, click here for highlights from a January 2011 vist to GOSESO by a Tanzanian Minister of State, Dr. Terezya Huvisa. Tanzania offers a stable political climate and natural communities rich in biodiversity, and represents one of the best investment climates in Africa.
We continue to invite a broad range of partnerships from Tanzania and beyond; please contact GOSESO for more information.
